Inside the ramparts of Saint-Paul Fredrik and Nathalie Widenfels have, in three years, transformed an "all and everything" table to a bistro-gastro stopping place of the best type. They invested a lot, recruited Norman Stéphane Marie, brightened the ground-floor dining room, and changed the terrace furniture. Bravo for the percussion of langoustine à la plancha; green apple and passionfruit vinagrette; risotto with summer truffles; Saint-Jacques with creamy soy-lemon jus; roasted duck magret with quince! Chocolate brownie and mango-pineapple crumble make good desserts. The wine card is well versed in Rhone valley and Bourgogne as well as Provence, good welcome, and delightful service, with excellent value at lunch and more ambition evenings. A few steps away Gourmandises du Tilleul offers good sandwiches, ice creams and pastries.
