Le Clos des Gourmets  

Sosno's enormous bronze Venus peeking from the facade is the signature of this beautiful hotel close to the Promenade des Anglais. The decoration and the spirit breathe Art-Deco. Here, Mourad Laghzioui continues his facile balancing of colors and savors. In summer the restaurant uses the terrace with a panoramic view, close to the pool, and later moves into the cosy, baroque dining room. Light traditional Mediterranean dishes dominate: foie gras terrine; girolle fricassee; pan-fried prawns; lamb jowl confit; grilled loup filet and marinated vegetables; rum baba and chestnut mousse; crepes Suzette flambeed with Grand Marnier... give a sense of the classicism. The cellar has excellent choices in Provence.
