At the entrance to Rue d'Antibes we drink to the health of Frédéric Roggemans, who for 30 years has preached the gospel of wines in East Cannes and last year took over a second address on the Suquet hillside. In the chic decor of blond woods, the cooking is overseen by Bruno Sohn, former chef at the Palais du Mediterranee in Nice, along with his second Christophe Van den Drish. Tapas; Iberian ham; house foie gras; beef carpaccio with olive oil; beef tartar Charolais; tomato tartine; mozzarella and Serrano ham; goat-cheese salad; and fruity sweets are alive and well. Isabelle Desmaret watches over the wine cellar. Small and large producers are represented at prices ranging from 3 to 13,000 Euros per bottle. We like the spirit, the wine, and the food.
