The quarter is not rich in small, well managed tables. This one, with bright decoration and stone walls, rejoins the pack. Keep it in whatever you use for a Rolodex these days. Carole Peretti and Lysiane Levivier have known higher profile venus: Fouquet's in Cannes and the Georges V in Paris. Their chef, Michel Cortesi, hails from the Moulin de Mougins and Café Llorca in Vallauris. This creates links with a fresh and malicious bistro cuisine in a wine-bar iteration that works passing well. Among the house standards: rabbit terrine; beef daube; cod filet; steak tartar; entrecote with green pepper; and crème renversée, chocolate mousse, rum baba and coconut-rhubarb tart. Soothing tones, open kitchen, choices on the chalkboard, charming welcome. A new address for Cannes' small appetites and an appealing wine bar evenings. |
