This is the second address of Christophe Bonzi (Le Mesclun in Seguret), a bistro on the banks of the Ouveze (river view from some tables), which has just welcomed a new chef, Florian Valle. A veteran of several reputable tables (Le Saule Pleureur in Monteux, La Mirande in Avignon), he will take on the chef's role for the first time. The simple advance carte leaves room for more ambitious and better-worked dishes, but always at reasonable prices (menus at 22 and 27 Euros). Foie gras with cacao and mango chutney; fine tarte of vegetables; daurade dressed in black olives; hare au poivre; beets and heirloom vegetables; creamy spice bread, sauce Anglaise with Grand Marnier. Service is delightful and the cellar endowed with Rhone valley domains and service by the glass remains. |
