Most people passing through Bonnieux only stop to admire the panoramic view on the Luberon and Mont Ventoux. They're missing out. In the heart of this lovely perched village is hidden a table of charm where Jean Michel-Pages works in front of his customers in complete transparency in a glassed-in kitchen. The two dining rooms in 14th century blond stone, more intimate than the roadside terrace, are always full. Tomato in aspic with feta; cucumber gaspacho and tomato sorbet; bar filet à la plancha, with fennel mousse and anis froth; daurade simply grilled with market vegetables de-boned at the table. A house specialty, fish are cooked to perfection and the regional products are irreproachably fresh. We finish with an excellent crème brulée with nougat and honey foam. Clara welcomes with a smile and service is attentive.
