Le Colonial Café et La Terrasse du Colonial
| |
We know the big screen sea view over Old Nice and the Esterel on the horizon. At the intersection of the Promenade des Anglais and the Jardin Albert Ier, the Meridien hosts two restaurants: the Colonial Café when the weather is ugly; La Terrasse (9th floor) when it's sunny - even in winter. Sébastien Giannini has put an end to indolent repertoires here, modifying the image of the table. Fine blette tarte and pan-fried girollles; small vegetable concert (carrot, turnip, onion, beet root...); creamy potatoes Mona Lisa; rabbit and white bean puree; pan-fried beef and delicious pig's feet crisps (good bourgeois eating); pot-au-feu en cocotte; veal kidney, polenta and Madeira shallots; carmelized apples and saffron cream... mean business. Finally, we enjoy the attentiveness of the service and a short selection of Corsican and Provence wines. |
