Le Gourmandin

Uta and Patrick Schwartz are almost invisible here in the center of town. With son Kevin, a well-trained patissier, Patrick draws on the Provence all around to create very thoughtful dishes that match the interior decor of curtains and lace. The market menu is of rare modesty with stuffed zucchini flowers with scorpion fish mousse; pieds et paquets of lamb; and sheep cheese with honey and nuts. Even better, the pot of Saint-Jacques with girolles; the roasted lamb in tapenade crust or the chocolate cake with crème anglaise perfumed with coffee.... The farm cheeses in olive oil come from Mme. Longo (Le Val), the sheep cheese from M. Blanc in Barjols. We are in the country, as is the wine cellar that includes lovely references in Provence. From the terrace you can see the old village. |
