La Fourchette

Other restaurants in the city of Popes have highs and lows, changing chefs and styles, but this bistro close to the Place de l'Horloge has lasted for close to 40 years. Faithful customers and visitors press in to taste a changeless repertoire of good Provençal cooking. The dining room has been updated but retains the folkloric ambiance which has always made it charming. Philippe Hiély maintains an exemplary regularity. From the overstuffed carte you create your own menu or special, choosing from dishes that follow the market and the whim of the chef. This is classic cooking adapted to a well-known clientele. The house daube is renowned, and we enjoy the baked or steamed vegetables. Danièle Hiély welcomes with a smile, the team is efficacious, and the regional wine card is well provisioned with service by the glass or the pitcher. Quality-price index is unbeatable. La Fourchette knows how to incite desire and closes weekends. |
