Devilish cuisine and truffles a-go-go for this auberge with oak and glass displays, guest dining atmosphere, bourgeois bistro, and high-end grocery (great ideas for holiday gifts). With Hervé Monnier the carte - proudly tariffed in any case - has taken on volume. Lovely truffle dishes defy the Niçois cuisine all around. Pizza with grated summer truffle and fresh tomatoes; poached egg with albufera sauce; incomparable potato with truffle cream; "truffled" items, too, such as tortellini, tagliatelles and risottos. A favorite: tagliatelles with cream and grated aestivum truffles with lamb confit and truffle puree. Good Provence wines accompany menus which climb all the way to 98 Euros for four courses with summer truffles. Melanosporum is proud, in all its forms. Is it worth all that? Debatable. |
